Politico… President Barack Obama announced after a meeting with House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid that they haven't yet reached a budget deal to avert a government shutdown. Obama told reporters that he's "not yet prepared to express wild optimism, but I think we are further along today than we were yesterday." Reid and Boehner released the following joint statement after the meeting: "We have narrowed the issues, however, we have not yet reached an agreement. We will continue to work through the night to attempt to resolve our remaining differences.” Editor’s Note: Federal Government will shut down at midnight Friday without a budget agreement.
